Abstract

This article analyzes the linguocultural features of mythological units found in the translation of the epic “Alpomish” and the ways they are rendered into English. The study examines the semantic and connotative characteristics of such Arabic-Islamic mythological units as “Lot,” “Manot,” “dev,” and “pari,” as well as the ethnographic unit “shopar.” Comparative-typological, semantic, and linguocultural methods of analysis were employed in the research.
