Abstrak

The article analyses the theoretical foundations that determine the content and structure of ecological competences of future teachers. Drawing on the competence-based approach and concepts of ecological pedagogy, the key notions – “competence”, “competency”, and “ecological competency” are examined in their interrelation and pedagogical functionality. The three-component structure of a teacher’s ecological competency (cognitive, value-motivational, and activity components) is substantiated, and it is demonstrated that each component requires independent methodological support. Conclusions are formulated regarding the methodological priorities in the professional training of ecology teachers.
