Social interaction includes nonverbal communication, which covers many forms of exchanging information and feelings through facial expressions, gestures and movements. Nonverbal communication is sometimes regarded as "body language", but this view is mistaken: we use nonverbal signals to emphasise, reinforce or extend what we say. This article is devoted to the issue of nonverbal communication in teaching a foreign language.
