Investment Policy in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Role of Foreign Direct Investment in It

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyse the essence of investment policy in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the stages of its formation and development, and its impact on the national economy. The main focus of the study is on the role of foreign direct investment (FDI) in economic growth, and its dynamics and structural characteristics. On the basis of statistical data, the growth trends in the volume of investment in fixed capital, the increasing share of foreign investment and the results of the liberalisation of the investment climate are analysed. The criteria for assessing the impact of FDI on the economy are also substantiated, including its ratio to GDP, share in exports, capital productivity and significance in creating new jobs. According to the results of the study, improving investment policy and attracting high-quality foreign investment is an important factor in the country's economic development.
